Hello, and welcome to our Grain Vacuum Hose page. A number of years ago, a customer in Iowa was experiencing failure on his 8″ x 60 mil VHD/Durathane-type hose. After about 12 months it would simply collapse under the load of the 3-stage grain vac, running 150 input Horsepower. So we took a hard look at it, built some prototypes, and tested them.
In the end, we found that a 45 mil hose, with a super-heavy wire, and a tighter pitch (distance between the spirals), was able to withstand an incredible amount of force while achieving superior flexibility over the typical 60 mil product.
That’s how our special HV High Vacuum Urethane hose was born. In this particular case, his life went from 1 year to 4 years. Since that time, we have expanded our HV Grain Vac hose line to include sizes from 5″ through 8″.
